International Student Program SD73
The International Student Program for School District 73 is looking for families to host International students. The students will attend secondary schools in Kamloops and will stay for 1 or 2 semesters starting September 2018. Our host families are asked to provide a welcoming home, food and a positive English speaking environment. The compensation is $825 per month. SOGI 1 2 3 has launched new SOGI 1 2 3 Parent Videos
that address questions about SOGI 1 2 3 and SOGI-inclusive education in
schools. The videos are designed for parents and family members to view
and learn about SOGI 1 2 3 in various grade-levels. The goal of the
videos is to debunk some of the common misinformation in the media and
to support parents in their understanding of SOGI-inclusive education.
The SOGI 1 2 3 Parent Videos are available to view and download now on SOGIeducation.org/parents.
We are excited to host the first annual Spring Inter-School debate on Friday, April 20th.
Norkam, Sahali Secondary and SKSS will be competing. Debates start at
3:40 pm in the Library and run until roughly 6:40 pm. Come and watch participants argue for
and against various timely resolutions. Thank-you to coaches and
volunteer judges and parents.
The Spring Athletic Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 12th at 5:30 in the South Kam gym.
If your son/daughter is playing a Spring Sport, please make sure that someone is there. Athletic information, policies, etc. will be discussed.

The Ministry of Education is inviting all students, parents, and staff members to complete an online survey to provide feedback about our school. This survey is done anonymously but parents will require an access code. To obtain your code and participate in the survey please email Mrs. Mattes at email@example.com.
All Grade 10 and 12 SKSS students will be completing the 2018 Student Learning Survey from the Ministry of Education on Tuesday, April 17th -Thursday, April 19th, 2018. The deadline to complete the survey is April 27th, 2018.
