Parents are also welcome to attend the evening event as they look for ways to educate and support their children in their career exploration.

South Kamloops Secondary School has been receiving questions from our community as it relates to "S-Trips."  It is very important for our community to know and understand that "S-Trips" are not connected, sponsored, or affiliated with SKSS and/or School District #73.

If you are considering having your son/daughter participate on one of these trips, you will need to deal directly with this private company in terms of their events and/or policies.

Economics for Success - Junior Achievement
by Sheila Collins - Tuesday, 21 February 2017, 12:31 PM

    February 23rd - Thursday

All Grade 10 students will be taking part in a workshop offered at TRU.  A permission slip was sent home with the students.  Please return the form ONLY if your child does not wish to attend.

Junior Achievement (JA) was created for you, the student, to prepare you for the real world. JA teaches skills that often cannot be learned in the classroom environment but are necessary for success in today’s global economy. Simply put, we’re helping you add more tools to your toolbox.

Here are just a few statistics:

    • Over 75% of Achievers cite Junior Achievement as having a significant impact in developing their financial literacy and decision-making skills.

    • Achievers are 50% more likely to open their own business, leading to innovations, new jobs and wealth creation.

    • Over 65% of Achievers indicate that participation in JA programs had a significant impact on staying in school and enrolling in post-secondary education.
